【展覧会情報 / Exhibition Information】
2026年8月1日より、現代美術家·岩間有希による個展「Fulcrum」を開催いたします。本展は、2025年に続くDDD ARTでの二度目の個展となります。
神奈川で生まれ育った岩間は、様々な土地からの影響を受けながら、幼少期より自然や、目には見えないが確かに存在するものとの対話などを、絵画として描き起こし、次第に油彩だけでなく、陶芸や大型作品へと表現領域を広げていきます。近年は、鉱物、珊瑚、土、陶片、木炭、果物、漆喰などを使用しており、それらの一部は各地で自ら採集し、粒子になるまで砕き、灰になるまで焚き上げるなど、生命の循環と大地の記憶を宿した素材を用いながら、独自の制作を展開しています。
本展のタイトル「Fulcrum」は、「支点」を意味します。
かつて森羅万象と人間の結びつきを強めたのは、生きるための最も根源的なテクノロジー(エレメント)でした。例えば、地表から突き出た巨岩は「地球の骨」として畏れられ、道具となり、住まいとなり、ときには神々が降り立つ依り代ともなり、その圧倒的な存在は、人間を森羅万象へと開く祈りの中心でもありました。
岩間は、その感覚を現代に呼び戻そうとします。キャンバスを一つのフィールドとして捉え、自らの意志と、素材がもたらす偶然の現象とのあいだを往復しながら、生命の循環が織りなす痕跡を幾層にも重ねていきます。そこに現れる景色は、作家が世界を支配するものではなく、自然の理と人間とが共に立ち現れる事象そのものです。
会場に配置される作品は、天と地、内と外、見える世界と見えない世界を結ぶ「支点」として存在します。それはストーンヘンジや要石のように空間の均衡を保ち、展示全体をひとつの祈りの場へと変えていきます。
展示室全体を一つのインスタレーションとして巡る体験を通して、先人達が森羅万象との関係を誠実に生きた痕跡として紡いできたものを紐解き、私たちが忘れかけていた人間が本来持つ、”自らの内側に眠る根源的でひらかれた静かな祈り”を呼び覚ますことになるでしょう。
一昨年までの作品群は、幼少期より見つめていた世界との対話、自らの感覚や衝動をそのまま画面へと素直に定着させる行為でした。数多くの展示を重ねていくなかで、岩間は一つの到達点を迎えます。そして燃え尽きるような感覚の先で、「私は、この地球で何を表現したいのだろう」と自らに問いかけたことを皮切りに、自己の内側から、地球そのものへと意識が向かいます。
第一章が「自己宇宙（Self）」——自らの内なる世界を見つめ、その感覚を描き出す旅であったとすれば、第二章目は「地球の叡智（Earth）」——
キャンバスを根源的な祈りの装置とし、表現を通してこの世の叡智と対話をすることを頼りに、後に振り返れば、本展「Fulcrum」は岩間有希の制作における第二章の現在として位置づけられるでしょう。

【アーティストステートメント / Artist Statement】
私にとっての創作活動は、自己の意志を開示する場ではなく、森羅万象と溶け合う場所のようなものです。
素材を支配せず、生命力と響き合う。重なる素材の気配や、コントロールを離れた身振り。それらは無意識の知性や予期せぬ変容として画面に溶け込み、意味を固定しない深みへと導いてくれます。
意図を超え、予測不可能なプロセスを包み込んでいく終わりのない積層。
様々な素材を用いて画面を立ち上げる手仕事の生々しい手ざわりは、自然の一部としての私を呼び覚まし、大地とつながり直す親密な儀式のようでもあります。作品はそこから、人間そのものの根源へと繋がっていきます。

【Exhibition Information】
DDDART is pleased to present “Fulcrum,” a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Yuuki Iwama, opening on August 1, 2026. This exhibition marks Iwama’s second solo presentation at DDDART, following her 2025 exhibition.
Born and raised in Kanagawa, Iwama has long engaged in a dialogue with nature and the invisible yet undeniably present forces that surround us, translating these encounters into painting since childhood. Her practice has gradually expanded beyond oil painting to encompass ceramics and large-scale works. In recent years, she has developed a distinctive artistic language through materials gathered from various landscapes—including minerals, coral, soil, ceramic fragments, charcoal, fruits, and plaster—which she crushes into fine particles or burns into ash. Through these processes, her works embody both the cyclical nature of life and the memories embedded within the earth itself.
The title of this exhibition, “Fulcrum,” refers to a point of support or balance.
In ancient times, it was elemental technologies—the most fundamental means of sustaining life—that strengthened the bond between humanity and all things in the universe. They became tools, shelters, and at times sacred vessels through which deities descended into the world. Massive stones protruding from the earth were revered as the “bones of the planet,” their overwhelming presence serving as centers of prayer that opened humanity to the greater cosmos.
Iwama seeks to restore this sensibility to the present day. Conceiving the canvas as a field of encounter, she moves between her own intentions and the unforeseen phenomena brought forth by her materials, layering traces woven by the cycles of life. The landscapes that emerge are not manifestations of the artist’s dominion over the world, but rather events in which the principles of nature and humanity arise together.
The works installed throughout the exhibition space function as “fulcrums” that connect heaven and earth, interior and exterior, the visible and the invisible. Like Stonehenge or the Kaname-ishi—the sacred “keystone” believed to stabilize the land—they maintain the equilibrium of the space and transform the exhibition itself into a site of quiet prayer.
Through the experience of moving through the entire exhibition as a single installation, visitors are invited to unravel the traces left by our predecessors, who lived in sincere relationship with the myriad phenomena of the world. In doing so, the exhibition may awaken within us a primordial and open form of silent prayer—one that has long lain dormant within human nature.
Until two years ago, Iwama’s works emerged from her dialogue with the world she had contemplated since childhood, embodying her sensations and impulses directly upon the pictorial surface. Through years of exhibitions and artistic practice, she arrived at a turning point. Beyond a profound sense of creative exhaustion, she found herself asking, “What is it that I truly wish to express on this planet?” From that moment onward, her consciousness began to shift—from the inner self toward the Earth itself.
If the first chapter of her practice, “Self,” was a journey inward to explore and depict her inner universe, then the current second chapter, “Earth,” marks a dialogue with the wisdom of this world through artistic expression, with the canvas serving as a primordial apparatus of prayer.
In retrospect, “Fulcrum” may come to be understood as the present embodiment of this second chapter in Yuki Iwama’s artistic journey.

【Artist Statement】
For me, the act of creation is not a means of revealing my own will, but rather a place where I dissolve into and become one with the myriad phenomena of the world.
Rather than seeking to control materials, I resonate with their vitality. The traces left by layered materials and gestures that escape conscious control merge into the surface of the work as unconscious intelligence and unforeseen transformations, guiding it toward a depth that resists fixed meaning.
An endless accumulation that embraces processes beyond intention and welcomes the unpredictable.
The raw tactility of making—building up the surface through the use of diverse materials—awakens within me an awareness of myself as part of nature. It becomes an intimate ritual of reconnecting with the earth, from which the work extends toward the very roots of what it means to be human.

Yuki Iwama creates works inspired by the theme of interconnected existence that extends beyond the limited framework of the self. She values embracing unexpected moments born from chance and transforming the various phenomena that emerge through processes of experimentation and trial and error into her artistic practice.
Through this approach, Iwama’s works continually transcend the boundaries of the individual self, pursuing meanings that remain open, expansive, and ever-evolving.
